The Dublin Aviation Enthusiasts Group
(Online Organisation
Of Irish Aviation Enthusiasts) was founded on the 1st June 2005 by
Byron Smith (Official Webmaster), Colm Fitzgerald (Shannon Airport Enthusiasts
Director) & Several Other Individuals Interested In Setting Up A Website
For Aviation In The Dublin Greater Area.
“Welcome to our website,
for all aviation enthusiasts in the Dublin Greater Area (Even all of you In
Wicklow, Kildare, Carlow, Meath & Louth!). Yes this website in for you,
some people may remember me from HASOI (The Historical Aviation Society Of
Ireland), well yes, I’m still there aswell!
But I found myself lost
when it came to a website dedicated to aviation on The East Coast- so I decided
to launce one!

As well as an aviation historian and
webmaster, I’m also a keen young aviator. I am currently looking for a flying
club to start my training in, this September, after already clocking up hours
in a Cessna 150 and a Robinson B22
(Helicopter). My goals for this website, is to eventually
allow it to mostly run on contributions to develop the site and network, such
as photographs, etc. But of course as most will know- from seeing me out at
Weston- I love being an enthusiast- and I certainly won’t be running away
from my website! |

We may also, in the near future, arrange joint
aviation meetings with
The Historical Aviation Society Of Ireland
(HASOI) and The Shannon Airport Enthusiasts,
both actively
helping us to develop. We may also arrange meetings with The Irish Aviation
Enthusiasts Group (IAEG). We will see how we develop, and hopefully, soon,
we’ll get flying!

the cause of HASOI may be temporarily overlooked, for the need to get
this website up and running- I’ll be back soon, Thank You!
I would also like to say a big Thanks to the
following people, for encouraging very much in my aviation ambitions, in so
many different ways… Martin & Anne Marie Smith (My

it is certainly not intentional.
